For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith— and this not from yourselves, it is the gift of God— not by works, so that no one can boast. -Ephesians 2:8-9

Christianity hinges on the concept of grace, unmerited favor, because whenever we try to do good and be as we aught, we mess up, royally I might add. Now God is perfect, as in no flaws, holy, and other such descriptions, and he desires those with him to be the same. This raises the question of how we can enter into his presence as we are not by any means able to meet his standard?

Not a single human being save one was ever able to avoid these shortcomings, and he was both fully God and man. Yet what did he do with his life? He devoted himself to the father's will and cared enough to die upon a cross, a criminal's death, so that through his blood the world might be made right with God, who is perfect. Good news time: God raised him from the dead on the third day and he now intercedes on our behalf to the Father. [God is both one and three, Father, Son (Jesus Christ), and Holy Spirit (helps and resides in Christians)]

All we need to complete this transaction, cleanse our impurity before God, and have a future eternal life with him is to confess that Jesus is Lord and believe God raised him from the dead. (Romans 10:8-13) No one is to low or high in God's sight, for we are all his creation and he longs to bring us back into a right relationship with him.
